HC 3rd Birthday Devotional

Day 1: Remembering God's Faithfulness

Reading: Joshua 4:1-24

Devotional: Just as the Israelites set up memorial stones to remember God's faithfulness in crossing the Jordan, we too are called to reflect on God's goodness in our lives. Take time today to recall specific moments where God has shown His faithfulness to you. How has He provided, protected, or guided you? Create your own "memorial" - perhaps journaling these moments or sharing them with a friend. Let these memories fuel your faith for the challenges ahead, knowing that the God who was faithful yesterday is the same God who walks with you today.

Day 2: Growing in God's Family

Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

Devotional: The church is described as a body with many parts, each vital and interconnected. Reflect on your role within your church family. Are you actively participating and using your gifts to serve others? Consider how you can take a step towards deeper involvement - whether it's joining a ministry team, offering to pray for others, or simply reaching out to welcome someone new. Remember, your presence and participation matter more than you may realize. By serving, you not only bless others but also experience the joy of being knitted more closely into God's family.

Day 3: Multiplying Kingdom Impact

Reading: Matthew 13:31-33

Devotional: Jesus often spoke of the Kingdom of God growing from small beginnings to have widespread impact. How might God be calling you to participate in this multiplication? It could be through sharing your faith with others, discipling a new believer, or supporting missions work. Pray for God to expand your vision beyond just addition to multiplication in your spiritual life and ministry. What small step of obedience could you take today that, by God's grace, might grow into something far beyond what you can imagine?

Day 4: Generosity and Trust

Reading: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Devotional: Giving is not just about meeting needs; it's a profound act of worship and trust in God's provision. Reflect on your attitude towards giving - of your time, talents, and finances. Are there areas where fear or selfishness might be holding you back? Ask God to cultivate a spirit of cheerful generosity in your heart. Consider making a specific commitment to increase your giving in some way, trusting that as you sow generously, God will provide for your needs and use your generosity to bless others abundantly.

Day 5: Immeasurably More

Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21

Devotional: Our God is able to do "immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine." How might this truth change the way you pray and dream? Take some time to bring your biggest hopes and seemingly impossible situations before God. Then, push beyond those boundaries and ask God to do even more than you can conceive. Let this exercise stretch your faith and expectation. As you go about your day, look for ways God might be working beyond your initial expectations, and praise Him for His limitless power and love at work in and through you.
